Artistic geometry in comfort

Inspired by the De Stijl art movement, the Jacobus sofa combines the geometric rigour of Piet Mondrian’s compositions with the creative freedom of modern architecture, in a perfect symbiosis of art, design and fine craftsmanship.

Its concept is based on the contrast between structure and softness, geometry and comfort, order and expression.

The design organises the space through a visually defined structure, where elegant dividing lines delineate the different volumes and blocks of colour with graphic precision, evoking the aesthetic language that characterised one of the most influential artistic movements of the 20th century.

As a counterpoint to this visual rigour, the Jacobus introduces generous and welcoming forms through its freestanding modules, which appear to float on delicate, half-spherical feet.

This combination creates a sense of three-dimensional lightness and gives the piece a dynamic presence, capable of adapting and reinventing itself according to the space and its use.

The experience of comfort is complemented by the use of carefully selected natural raw materials, including sumaúma fibres, renowned for their exceptional lightness and softness.

The result is sustainable, enveloping comfort, in line with a contemporary vision of wellbeing.
